What does Platinum and Gold mean for anti-malware products?

This article applies to the current MetaDefender IT Access product range and all MetaDefender Endpoint releases deployed on Windows systems.

Within MetaDefender IT Access policies, administrators have the option to determine a device’s compliance based on specific anti-malware applications that are required to exist on that device.

MetaDefender IT Access introduces a list of Windows anti-malware products that can be filtered based on their certification level.

To access these settings, go to your MetaDefender IT Access Console>Policy Management>Policies>Relevant Policy>Deep Compliance>Anti-Malware, as illustrated below.

The meaning of these certification levels is as follows.

The OPSWAT Access Control Certification Program awards Gold and Platinum level certification based on two primary criteria:

  1. Compatibility with access control solutions.
  2. Security effectiveness of the products, verifying that they deliver on their claimed features.
