Why doesn't OPSWAT Mobile App show me latest available operating system for my Android device?

This article applies to all OPSWAT Mobile App releases deployed on Android devices.

While the OPSWAT Mobile App is able to detect the latest available versions of Android being released by Google, it is unable to determine whether your device’s manufacturer or service carrier has made them available for your specific device.

Most carriers adapt the official Android versions released by Google to their unique device-model requirements, customizing the interface, adding features and including exclusive applications. The process can take months.

Each carrier handles the process differently and, as such, it is unfeasible for the OPSWAT Mobile App to discover and maintain this information, especially as a lightweight app that is designed to run continuously in background mode, without hindering device performance.

With that said, at some point, any given device model will stop being eligible for the latest Android release upgrades. At which time, it is highly recommended that you consider upgrading to a new device.
