How do I Configure the Proxy Server?

The Windows Services of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer™ are running under "Local System Account." For Local System Account, Windows does not use the system proxy configurations. Therefore, to change the proxy configuration for Local System accounts, you need to:

  1. Download PsTools: PsTools - Sysinternals
  2. Extract it to a local folder, e.g.: C:\PsTools
  3. Open an administrator cmd: cd C:\PsTools
  4. Issue the command PsExec -i -s cmd.exe to configure the Local System account
  5. In the cmd that appears, issue the command inetcpl.cpl to bring up Internet Options
  6. Go to “Connections” and click “LAN settings” to fill out the “Proxy server” section with the relevant proxy address and port number

Once done, any process running by the Local System account (such as MetaDefender Managed File Transfer™) will utilize the configured proxy server.
