How would discontinuing Threat Intelligence affect customers?

Starting on March 12th, 2025, OPSWAT will release InSights Threat Intelligence and discontinue Threat Intelligence in the module to avoid confusion.

How will it affect the current customers, and what actions should they take?

The Threat Intelligence module was included with all MetaDefender Core licenses. However, it requires customers to purchase a MetaDefender Cloud API key in order to use it.

So there’s no impact for customers that are not including the API key as part of their Threat Intelligence module usage.

Upon renewal, you may see this engine become “Unlicensed” when you activate a new license key. This simply happens because the engine is already deployed, but the new activation key doesn’t include it anymore. You can simply ignore this status or just delete the engine package.

Functionality wise, you can still use directly from the quarantine section by leveraging our Adaptive Sandbox integration.

For details on how to deploy locally or how to configure a remote sandbox, see here: https://www.opswat.com/docs/mdcore/sandbox
