Creating Support Packages
To ensure optimal support from OPSWAT®, you can create a support package from the user interface in MetaDefender Managed File Transfer™. A support package contains essential information regarding the operating system and OPSWAT® software found on the machine.
Generating the Package via Command Line Interface (CLI)
Run the script found in the installation directory of the product. The default location is: "C:\Program Files\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Managed File Transfer\Services\GenerateSupportFiles.exe."
Optionally, use the -includeDbDump argument to include a database dump. Note that including a database dump can significantly increase the size of the resulting archive.
As the script processes the necessary information, it generates the support package output. The support archive is created at:
The package files are compressed into a ZIP archive named something like:
The generated package will be stored in the temporary folder for the current user.
Generating the Package through the User Interface (UI)
Administrator privileges are required.
- From the web user interface, go to the "User Info" menu at the top right.

- Click the "Contact Support" option.
- Choose a password if you want to password-protect the generated archive.
- Check the "Include database dump" box if you wish to include a database dump. Note: including a database dump can significantly increase the archive size.
- Click "Export packages" to download the package.

Content of the Support Package
The support package contains the following elements:
- Configuration files
- Log files
- System information
- Network information
- Directory and file information
- Registry key configuration
- (Optional) Application log from the database
