Scanning is a process that detects potential threats in your uploaded files.
Scan files (automatically)
Scanning the uploaded files is an automated process in MD MFT, so you do not have to scan your files manually by default, because:
- Scanning is performed on file uploads automatically.
- Periodic rescan can be performed by the MD MFT application as well, depending on the system settings.
During the scan process you can see Scanning in the Processing State column.

Rescan files (manually)
Besides the automatic scans, you can rescan your files manually anytime.
To ensure the security of your files, please rescan any files that you uploaded a long time ago or that you suspect might contain threats.
To rescan a file, click on the three-dots menu, and select Rescan option.

A message and the Processing State column will inform you that the rescan has been started.

The scan result will be shown in the table and in the File information page.
