Onboarding

Once you’ve completed the installation you are ready to configure MetaDefender Storage Security. To begin, please navigate using your preffered browser to the MetaDefender Storage Security web interface which is located by default at http://<server>:80. You will see the following screen:

Create your account by filling the necessary information.

When you are ready, click Register. And then login using your newly created account. You are now ready to begin the initial configuration wizard.

In this step, you can start with a new configuration, or import an existing configuration so that all your saved settings are restored.

The next step is to apply a license:

Choose between the following options:

• Online activation: your license will be online validated against OPSWAT’s activation server.
• Offline activation: you will upload a file that you previously generated from My OPSWAT
• Trial: if you don’t have a license, please contact OPSWAT in order to receive one.

Once your instance of MetaDefender Storage Security is activated you can proceed to the next step.

In the next step, you’ll be integrating MetaDefender Storage Security with MetaDefender Core or MetaDefender Cloud.

MetaDefender Core is an advanced malware protection and detection system that offers high-speed multi-scanning, deep content disarm and reconstruction (Deep CDR), and file-based vulnerability assessment technologies, preventing zero-day attacks and unknown threats as well as providing close to 100% known threat detection, without affecting performance. After choosing between MetaDefender Core or MetaDefender Cloud, you will be prompted with a form to complete the integration.

After MetaDefender Core/Cloud integration is done, you can start configuring a storage integration.

This is the final step. Choose a storage that you wish to secure and then follow the instructions on the screen to create an integration between your storage and MetaDefender Storage Security.
