* The MetaDefender Storage Security platform requires careful disk space planning to ensure optimal performance. Below is a breakdown of recommended disk space allocations:

Base Installation

• Core Application: 20 GB

Operational Requirements

• Logging Data: 100 GB recommended for log retention and analysis
• Temporary Files created during remediations operations (more details here): Space allocation should be calculated based on your largest anticipated file size. Formula: Minimum temporary space = 2 × (size of largest file in GB)
• Example: For environments where the size of biggest file is 50 GB, allocate at least 100 GB for temporary files

Total Recommended Allocation

For a production environment, the minimum recommended disk space should be calculated as:

Total Disk Space = Base Installation + Logging Data + Temporary Files

For example, a standard deployment handling files up to 50 GB would require:

• 20 GB (Base Installation) + 100 GB (Logging) + 100 GB (Temporary Files) = 220 GB

Note: Insufficient disk space may impact system performance and reliability, particularly during high-volume remediation operations. Regular monitoring of disk usage is advised to ensure optimal system performance.
