Clean Uninstall of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer

Following these instructions for a clean uninstall will result in the loss of all changes to your MetaDefender Managed File Transfer installation, including stored files and custom configuration.

To perform a clean uninstall of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the installation directory (by default, "C:\Program Files\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Managed File Transfer").
  2. Open the "Services" folder and find the file named "SetCompleteUninstallFlag.reg".
  3. Double click "SetCompleteUninstallFlag.reg".

This will set a registry key in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Vault" that instructs the uninstaller to perform a clean uninstall.
    1. Go to "Control Panel" --> "Uninstall a program".
    1. Locate and uninstall MetaDefender Managed File Transfer.

At this point, all files, configuration settings, and database files of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer will have been removed.
