Clean uninstall of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer

Following these instructions for a clean uninstall will result in the loss of all changes to your MetaDefender Managed File Transfer installation, including stored files and custom configuration.

To perform a clean uninstall of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the installation directory (by default, C:\Program Files\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Managed File Transfer).
  2. Open the Services folder and find the file named SetCompleteUninstallFlag.reg .
  3. Double click SetCompleteUninstallFlag.reg .

This will set a registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Vault that instructs the uninstaller to perform a clean uninstall.
    1. Go to Control Panel > Uninstall a program .
    1. Locate and uninstall MetaDefender Managed File Transfer.

At this point, all files, configuration settings, and database files of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer will have been removed.
