Clean uninstall of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer

Following the clean uninstall instructions in this page will result in losing all changes of your MetaDefender Managed File Transfer installation (stored files and custom configuration).

Navigate to the installation directory (by default, C:\Program Files\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Managed File Transfer). In order to perform a clean uninstall of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer, including the database, please follow the steps listed below:

  1. Open Services folder and find the file named SetCompleteUninstallFlag.reg
  2. Double click SetCompleteUninstallFlag.reg

This will set a registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OPSWAT\MetaDefender Vault that instructs the uninstaller to perform a clean uninstall.
  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Uninstall a program
  2. Locate and uninstall MetaDefender Managed File Transfer

At this point, all files, configuration settings and database files of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer will have been removed.
