Download Protection - Overview

MetaDefender Endpoint scans and sanitizes each file downloaded from internet browsers (such as Chrome) and instant messaging apps (such as WhatsApp), ensuring endpoint devices are protected against file-based threats. The user can only access files that are found to be clean after scanning.

What's this feature about?

Downloading files from browsers and instant messaging apps carries inherent security risks, with malicious files often disguised as harmless or, in some cases, delivered through "drive-by downloads", which is the unintentional download of malicious code/software, without user awareness. To address this concern, our Download Protection feature offers a proactive solution by automatically scanning and sanitizing all downloaded files for potential threats before they are made accessible to your endpoints. This feature ensures that you can download files with confidence, knowing your device and data are protected.
