Extract passwords from email bodies

When processing password protected attachments MetaDefender Email Gateway Security can now be configured to try and extract possible passwords detected in the email body and automatically attempt to decrypt and scan the password protected attachment.

Performance improvements when using hash lookup

Significant performance improvements can be observed when identical attachments are sent to multiple recipients and hash lookup is enabled in the security rule.

This functionality also requires MetaDefender Core 5.6.0 or later.

OPSWAT Filescan reports

All inbound overview reports now includes OPSWAT Filescan behavior information. In addition 3 new dedicated reports are also available.

Configuration history has now been renamed Audit Log and also records access, email & quarantine operations.

Fixed

Dynamic Anti-Phishing could corrupt email body URL's

In rare occasions the Dynamic Anti-Phishing safe URL redirect could corrupt and break existing URL's in the email body.

Incorrect classification for Blocklisted content

When content was reported as Blocklisted by MetaDefender Core, Email Gateway Security would incorrectly classify the email as Malware detected. A new Blocklisted classification now available to better reflect the result.

Scan timeout error

In rare occurrences, for specific TNEF encoded emails, Email Gateway Security could report a Scan Timeout error in the processing history and subsequently fail the email.

Filter on phishing/spam topics

It is now possible to filter email by phishing/spam topics in Email History and Quarantine.

Statistics data retention can be extended to 12 months

Statistics retention can now be customized and extended to a maximum of 12 months.

Low disk space alert

In case Email Gateway Security detects low diskspace (<1GB) on the volume where installed, a email alert will be sent to the configured administrator(s). This notification will be sent hourly until the issue is resolved.

New rescan link generation algorithm

Rescan links are now generated using a new cryptographic random algorithm and can upon request also be increased by 64 characters in size.
