How long is the support life cycle for a specific version/release of MetaDefender Email Gateway Security v5?
OPSWAT provides support on each release of MetaDefender Email Gateway Security v5 for 18 months after the publication of the last release of the product. In other words: once a new release is published –if not noted otherwise– OPSWAT is committed to support v5 for 18 months from the date of the release.
Email Gateway Security 5.2.0 was released on 17 Dec 2020. If that was the last release of v5, then –adding 18 months– this version of the product would be supported until 17 Jun 2022.
Bug fixes and enhancements are, however, applied only to the next release of a product, not to the current release or historical releases, even when those releases are still within the 18 months support window.
In some cases, hot-fixes can be provided for the current release of the product and then incorporated as a regular fix in the next release.
OPSWAT strongly encourages customers to upgrade to the latest release on a regular basis and not to wait until the end of a release supported life-cycle.
