MetaDefender Drive Disconnects from the Target Device
Issue
MetaDefender Drive unexpectedly disconnects from the target device during the engine definition update phase.
Solution
The reason for this issue is mostly due to engine definition file corruption.
To fix this issue, you can try the following solutions:
- Reboot your system. In most cases, this action will restart the engine update process.
- Update the engines using the MetaDefender Drive Toolkit by following the Download and Copy engines instructions.
If the issue persists and your engines don't go back online, please contact OPSWAT Customer Success.
MetaDefender Drive performs scans while the target device's files are in read-only mode. As a result, the target device's drives won't be affected by any unexpected disconnection or shutdown during the scan. However, the interrupted scan can't be resumed or generate results due to unexpected behavior on file analyst results.
