Upgrade to MetaDefender Distributed Cluster v2.2.0
- MetaDefender Distributed Cluster (MDDC) v2.2.0 includes the High Availability for critical components including Redis, RabbitMQ and MDDC File Storage; thus the system needs to go down during upgrade.
- During the upgrade, MDDC API Gateway must be prevented from any client requests.
Upgrade procedure
- Sign to MDDC Control Center console with your administrator account, navigate to
Inventory
>Worker
and selectUndeploy workers
.

- Select workers of MDDC API Gateway, then click
Undeploy
.

- Navigate to
Dashboard
>Processing History
and filter In-Progress requests.

- Wait until all in-progress requests are complete.

- Go to
Inventory
>Worker
and selectUndeploy workers
one more time.

- Select workers of MetaDefender Core, then click
Undeploy
.

Wait until the status of all MetaDefender Core workers changes to
Available
.Upgrade MDDC File Storage by Installer file.
Upgrade MDDC Worker by Installer file.
Upgrade MDDC Identity Service by Installer file.
Upgrade MDDC Control Center by Installer file.
Sign to MDDC Control Center console and navigate to
Inventory
>Services
to ensure all services are healthy.

- Deploy new version of MetaDefender Core and MDDC API Gateway instances.
- In MDDC Control Center dashboard, verify that all services are operational.
The ignition file is not required during the service upgrade. Upon successful upgrades, connections between component services are automatically established.
