What if I reach the maximum number of users on my MFT?
This article applies to all MetaDefender Managed File Transfer releases deployed on Windows systems.
MetaDefender Managed File Transfer (MFT) supports a high volume of user accounts to accommodate enterprise-grade file sharing and collaboration. By default, the platform can support up to 10,000 users, depending on the license terms.
User Limit Configuration
- The maximum number of users is determined at the time of license key issuance.
- This limit is enforced based on the licensed capacity purchased during onboarding or renewal.
- If you are approaching or have reached your licensed user limit, system behavior may be affected, and new users may not be able to register.
Managing User Capacity and Licensing Expansion
- Try to free up capacity by removing unnecessary user accounts, such as former employees or duplicate entries.
- If your organization requires support for more than the currently licensed number of users: please reach out to your OPSWAT Support representative or Account Manager. Share an overview of your current usage and anticipated growth, and the OPSWAT team will evaluate your needs and recommend suitable licensing options.
